It Just Keeps Getting Better

I started earthing on November 8. Since then I have slept on an earthing pad every night, connected to the negative potential of the earth.

I continue to notice improvements.
  • I woke up on Thanksgiving morning with the awareness that the "ropey" muscle knot in my right upper arm had relaxed. It has remained normal since then. That after being knotted since my initial neck nerve damage in 2001.
  • Over the past week, I have spent hours in front of the computer to meet a deadline. Painlessly, almost effortlessly, compared to my capability just weeks ago.
  • I started a part-time job a couple of months ago, hoping that I would be able to do a few hours a day on a keyboard. It was difficult, but doable. I finish even extended hours now with no adverse effects.
  • Deep sleep. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to sleep through the night. Soundly.
People are noticing the difference in me. The spring in my step. The sparkle in my eye. The smile on my face. I am getting my life back.

Several friends have joined me in this adventure to reconnect to earth's healing potential. Their experiences mirror mine.
  • Hip pain is going away.
  • Sleeping comfortably barefoot on the half sheet without warm socks. Still can't believe it.
  • Sound sleep.
  • One friend's cat curls up on the earthing pad. She sent me a picture! Reminded me of the rescue animals.
  • The jury is still out for one person.
I can't wait to hear their future updates. And I'm anxious for new adventurers to get theirs in the mail and start using it.

I continue to be amazed that earthing works. I am astonished that it can improve long-standing health issues. Yes, it makes sense. It is unfortunate that we've lost touch with much of the natural order of health in our reach for innovation.

Thank you, God, for this answer to prayer!

Random Reflections on Improving Health

It has been two weeks and two days since I started grounding myself at night (and sometimes during the day) with the pad I purchased through www.goearthing.com
To answer some inquiries, here are random observations about what I've experienced.

The first couple of days, my body was definitely in "detox." It meant, for me, spending more time than usual in the little girl's room. I didn't experience any achiness or discomfort, but it wouldn't surprise me if some people did experience that initially.

I've had 16 nights, and counting, of deep, uninterrupted sleep. Most welcome! I wake occasionally, but go right back to sleep, even if I have to get up. I've been able to sleep comfortably on my side without waking because of neck pain. Before, I would wake up in much discomfort because I had rolled onto my side in my sleep. Now, I wake up in the morning in that position without any stiffness or pain. The universal comment about sleeping grounded is that it promotes great sleep.

Mostly, I am just watching my body respond to this new dynamic. I notice random things.
  • My two-year-old surgery scar is fading.
  • I have more energy.
  • My outlook is brighter.
  • I have a calmness and sense of wellbeing that emanates from deep within me.
I notice that the parts of my body affected by chronic health issues are being "touched:"
  • The 4-year-old foot injury that has kept me from wearing a shoe with ANY heel
  • My sciatic nerve
  • The fascia issues associated with my second surgery
  • The nerves in my right arm and hand damaged from my first radiculopathy
  • Elimination of the long-term swelling in my lower left leg that I suspect was due to circulatory issues
I can only imagine what is happening internally.

I believe that the folks who discovered this and have done research about it are right when they say that earthing is a key to vibrant health. At the time they wrote the book Earthing: The Most Important Health Discovery Ever? two years ago, they thought this wellness concept would revolutionize the healthcare industry. The odds are not in favor of a simple, inexpensive health aid receiving large funding grants for research or deep pockets for advertizing. The payoff isn't big enough. But, as they say, the best advertizing is word of mouth, so maybe there is hope. I certainly wish I'd known about this sooner. It has been around since the mid-90's, but it has yet to receive a wide hearing.

Grounding or Earthing Is Good For You! Who knew?

If you have unresolved health issues, this article just might be worth your time. I am celebrating over a dozen days of relief from health issues spanning over a dozen years. Perhaps my story could become yours.

My neck issues began in 2001 with pain radiating down my right arm that finally resulted in surgery for C6-C7 radiculopathy. Residual effects included loss of hand and neck function. I have suffered with almost unrelenting neck pain since a C5-C6 discectomy two years ago. Not much has helped. On the day that my prayer partner boldly asked God to relieve the pain now, I awoke unable to sleep during the night, as usual. I remember thinking that God wasn't ready to answer that bold prayer with “yes” yet, but He was actually using my routine. My MO had been to get on Facebook during these wakeful times and try to distract myself enough to go back to sleep. If you cannot get bored on FB in the middle of the night, you might as well get up and do laundry. On this night, God led me to this video on something called “earthing” posted by Dr. Mercola: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2013/10/19/grounded-documentary.aspx
I had nothing better to do, so I watched it. I checked out the website (www.goearthing.com) and discovered that the least expensive device cost about the same as two chiropractic treatments. Since earthing was grounded (pun intended) in science, had no side effects, had helped many people, and was relatively affordable, I decided to try it. I didn't have anything to lose except the cost of two chiropractic visits. If all it did was save me two visits, I would recover my investment.
My device arrived a week later. The instructions were very easy to follow (good tech writing). I checked my outlets with the tester, grounded my pad to the electrical outlet next to my bed, and put the pad at the foot of my bed where my feet could rest on it as I slept. I woke up pain free the next morning after a full night’s sleep. More to my amazement, I had full rotation of my head and my head felt seated right for the first time since my surgery, something that neither physical therapy nor chiropractic treatments had been able to achieve.
My health improves daily. No chiropractic visits are on my calendar. My eyes sparkle back at me from my reflection in the mirror. I can work at my computer for several hours without experiencing the debilitating pain that it brought on before. My mom would be pleased to know that I am standing up straight for the first time in my life, with no conscious effort and without her constant reminders to do so. And sleep. Sleeping all night is wonderful.
Among the things I've learned about earthing is that women experience relief with grounding and want to tell the world about it... men have to know how it works. This is ironic to me because most men swallow a prescribed pill with no thought of exactly how it works and little curiosity about potential side effects. But, guys, here is the theory.
Basically, God made the earth to be a huge reservoir of negative ions. His design was intentional, no surprise, because living things need those electrons to maintain healthy homeostasis. Most of our health issues involve underlying inflammation and are accompanied by/caused by free radicals (positively charged particles) in our bodies. Our technology has conspired to insulate us from the earth, so we no longer have access to this natural remedy, e.g.) we wear molded soles, build houses and offices above ground, drive cars, pave walkways. Most people can't spend a lot of time walking barefoot, which works well. But, you can ground yourself indoors using one of the devices invented by the man who discovered this phenomenon (sold at www.goearthing.com or via Amazon.com). A conductive device is connected to the ground socket of a properly wired electrical outlet, and you make contact, usually by placing your feet on the device. On average, grounding has to continue for at least 40 minutes before results can be measured or felt. The constant flow of electrons over time is needed since this remedy, like most, is dose dependent. I use my pad all night; what therapy are you going to find that you can do in your sleep without needing to set aside time or schedule an appointment? Chalk another one up to God's genius.
You can go to the company website and read 50 pages of their book Earthing free, or it comes with the purchase of any device. The book (co-written by the inventor, a cardiologist, and a medical writer) cites double-blind studies; before and after thermal imaging showing increased blood flow and decreased inflammation; even a study showing normalized negative charge on red cells, decreasing blood viscosity and resulting in faster blood flow; as well as many case histories. A video on the website tells how Tour de France bicyclists are among the athletes who use grounding to treat sore muscles and injuries.
What is most remarkable about this treatment is that it doesn’t require that you have an accurate diagnosis. It is almost universal in its application because it takes advantage of the body’s matrix of electrical conductivity. The electrons get used where they are needed. 97% of those who were given a grounding device kept it. That's higher than the efficacy of most pharmaceutical clinical trials which gain FDA approval. I was particularly taken with multiple observations that wild rescue animals instinctively seek out these grounding pads, even when hidden under straw or bedding.
I would encourage you to check this out for yourself. God's design continues to leave me in awe, as does His often miraculous answer to prayer.

Blessings
Kristi
